White sand dunes shimmer beneath the clear seas, inviting you to swim and explore this protected natural area.Head off on one of the paths, or keep to the shores doing as much, or as little, as you like. Then, after about two hours, you'll board the jet boat once more to skirt your way back to Lanzarote – keeping watch for the flying fish that often put on a show.

Graceful by name and appearance, La Graciosa is the ‘other' Canary island – one that few ever visit. Lying just a kilometre north of Lanzarote, it's like a different world – there are no cars, so no need for paved roads. And this luxury catamaran cruise is the ideal opportunity to get to know this rustic volcanic island.Board the ferry and cross the El Rio Strait over to the sleepy village of Caleta del Sebo, the larger of the island's two settlements. Explore it at your own pace or with your guide. Next, jump aboard the catamaran – where you'll be handed a mojito – and glide past the island's rugged coastline. You'll head to Playa Francesa beach, which lies in the shadow of the Amarilla volcano. Here, you can snorkel, kayak or spread your towel on the wave-washed golden sands.Meanwhile, back on board, you'll be served a lunch of paella, washed down with cool drinks. Afterwards, you can take in the views from the deck before catching the ferry back to Lanzarote.

Captivating scenery and natural works of art can be found in the northern corner of Lanzarote thanks to its extraordinary geology. First up, you'll see the Green Caves, where a labyrinth of galleries lead you to an impressive auditorium. You'll also head to Jameos del Agua – descend into this volcanic cavern to see it rock gardens and glassy lake. Also on the agenda is Mirador del Rio, which offers wow-factor vistas across to the island of La Graciosa. Then we'll drive through the Valley of the Thousand Palm Trees to Haria for lunch. And lastly in Mala, you'll visit a cochineal interpretative centre.

Add an extra edge of fun to exploring the lunar-like landscapes of Lanzarote's remote north. Choose between a two or three-hour tour and you'll drive your own dirt buggy alongside the open cacti fields of Guatiza towards Los Cocoteros – a great viewpoint over the sea. Next, you'll search for cacti plants to learn about the cochineal insect and its uses – you'll be surprised. Then, head up along the winding road to the pretty village of Mala by the coast to check out the huge dam built there in 1975. On our way back to Teguise via Guatiza, there'll be a chance to really see what your dirt buggy can do as we speed back to base.

The only waterpark in Fuerteventura is the ideal spot for a day of fun in the sun. There's no better way to cool off from the midday heat than in Acua water park's pools and slides. Kids have their own zone to safely play with animal-shaped slides and mushroom sprinklers. And if you're looking to get your adrenaline pumping, there's the multilane racer where you'll be able to clock up speeds of up to 30km/h. What's more, there's the Black Hole and Kamikaze to test your nerve – or to slow down the pace, you'll find the whirlpool and lazy river just the ticket. Available with or without transport.
